HAPPY EASTER

This weekend flew by.....

Riley and Jacob were able to visit with their Great Uncle and Aunt over the weekend. They live in Texas and came out for Easter weekend. We went out to dinner with them along with Great Grandma, and Grandpa and Grandma Lane. The next day we all went to the park and had lunch. We had a good time visiting with them....Jacob and Riley warmed up to them quickly and played cars, read some books, and played with Easter eggs at the park.

The Easter bunny came to our house and left lots of easter eggs filled with goodies as well as a couple of cars (of course). The Easter bunny also left a musical book and a lawn mower at Grandpa and Grandma Lane's house. We had Easter dinner at their house....it was yummy!!! Jake and Ry also endulged in a chocolate easter bunny!!

Kisses!!!!!!! Riley and Jake like playing with the back door and looking at each other through the glass. They play peek-a-boo and kiss each other.

Jacob has figured out how cool it is to play and unravel the toilet paper.

These pictures were taken before we all were hit with being sick....but it is now Friday and getting back into our routine. But these were cute pictures we thought we would share.

The week from HELL

This past week has been the toughest with the twins so far...last Sunday night they both started having fevers; Monday they were both congested and having high fevers (102-103.5)...so we called their Pediatrician and all figured that it could be the flu.
Monday night was the first night in hell....Jake could not sleep because he was continually congested and Riley began a serious cough around 2am. So they both ended up sleeping (but not really) with mom and dad. We ended up calling the Pediatrician at 4am concerned about Riley's cough and was told to bring her in the next morning as she was breathing okay between coughing attacks.
Tuesday morning Riley was worse as she was wheezing and her breathing was labored so we took her in to the doctor right away. At first they thought it was croup and gave her meds, did nebulizer treatment...and waited...well....she wasn't responding to the meds. So they told Clint to take her to the Urgent care for chest x-rays as it could be pnemonia. As Clint was going through this with Riley at the Doctor's office; I (Traci) was at home with a sick Jake (but not as sick as sister) and yes I was freaking out!!!! So Clint went to urgent care and I called Grandma and Grandpa Lane to come over to the house for support. Once Clint saw another doctor at the Urgent care he called and said they were not sure if it was Croup or pnemonia so they were going to admit her anyway and do chest x-rays....so Grandpa and Grandma Lane watched Jake at home while I went down and met Clint and Riley at the hospial. Once at the hospital....Riley was admited and put on oxygen, given meds, given nebulizer treatment. All I can say is.....what an awful and helpless feeling you have when your baby is sick plus in the hospital. I was a mess at home but once at the hospital and able to know what was going on was more calm. Riley was then responding to the meds and the Doctor gave us the good news that it was not pnemonia...but it was croup; which made me feel somewhat better. So Riley stayed in the hospital for two nights. Clint stayed with her the first night and I stayed with her the second night. Needless to say none of us slept and Riley was miserable. Riley did seem like she was getting better and was able to go home on Thursday.
Thursday night Riley slept really well......but it was now Jake's turn. Jake was up every 30-60 min coughing and not sleeping.....so off we went to the doctor on Friday with Jake and YUP....he has croup (but not as bad as sister) and he was put on meds and able to go home
Saturday came along and Riley's breathing was labored again and so off we went back to the urgent care. Clint and I both thought that she may have to stay in the hospital again...but... GOOD NEWS....she just did another nebulizer treatment, some more meds, and was able to come home.
Sunday.....We are all very tired of being sick and cranky...but we are all recovering. (dad and mom also got whatever Jake and Ry had in the mist of all this and were sick themselves). We are finally catching up on sleep and working on becoming normal again and less cranky.

All we can say is.....that was a lot of exhausting/stressfull work and hope that we don't have to face being sick for a long while.
