Our First Halloween!!!

Here are some pics of us having a good time with pumpkin guts and our Halloween costumes. Jacob and Riley are Thing 1 and Thing 2 from "The Cat in the Hat". Their Uncle Kevin and Aunt Tonya bought them Thing 1 and 2 shirts; so we decided what a great Halloween costume that would make.....AND of course they are Very Cute. We went around the Neighborhood and did some Trick or Treating then came home and handed out candy. Jake and Ry loved the attention from everyone and really liked just playing with the candy once they got home.

New Roof

And It Begins......

Our roof was leaking last December from all the big storms that we had. We finally are getting our new roof put on...we were on a really long waiting list....as well as us procrastinating to call anyone for a few months right after it happened. This is pretty much our Christmas present to each other....what a bummer!!! But at least it will last for at least another 15 years or 20 years (as the warranty we have from them is a 20 year warranty). We have officially found out what home ownership means; although I would take this anytime over living in a stinkin apartment.

Duke City Marathon

GOOD JOB DADDY!!!! Dad ran the Duke City Marathon this morning...his time was 3hrs 47 min. A friend of his dropped him off in the morning and we met him at the finish line. We were very proud!!

Our 2nd post (and sleep, sleep, sleep)

We're trying to post at least once a week or more if time lets us...Mom has a journal for the twins and has a hard time keeping up with that...so hopefully I'm better with this. Hey....maybe even Dad will post...you will definitely know the difference as his posts will have all the cool "wingdings" attached....just like how he did the title with the twins black and white pics.

Anyway...
Yea!!! We have officially gotten through "cry it out" and have discovered again what sleeping through the night feels like. So.....we were attempting all other things besides cry it out (as mom did not want to do it) to get Jake and Ry to sleep at night and sleep through the night...we finally gave up when Jake and Ry decided that it was more fun to goof around in their cribs for 30-40 minutes before bed while mom and dad were in their rooms trying to get them to sleep; plus they continued to wake at night, at least once. We had asked other people what had worked for them and the majority of them had said we were just "delaying the inevitable" (letting them cry). I have to admit Jake and Ry are doing wonderfully with the "cry it out" technique. The first two days and nights were not fun for any of us (mom was ready to quit the first night), but by the third night they went to sleep on their own and now sleep through the night until 6:30-7 in the morning. It seems like everyone is more rested in the morning; mom and dad are happy to NOT get up in the middle of the night--usually only for that damn pacifier!!! We are greatful for the sleep!!!

Yea...our first post!!!

Hey Everyone!!! So we have finally entered the 21st Century and are attempting to keep up with a simple blog rather then emailing everyone....so now you can all come check us out when you want to....hopefully we'll be able to keep up with updating the blog with posts, pics, videos, etc...more often then just emailing. I'll (Trace) probably be the main updater so I'll have to figure out how to do cool things....most likely with the help from Clint. AND can you believe it???...We have started the blog before the twins are a year old!!!! So please come check us out anytime and leave us some feedback/comments....we love to hear from everyone and how they are doing as well!!!!
