Chama Nights…

Memorial Day brought us a long weekend, so we headed up to Chama with the kiddos.  Grammy, G-Bob, and Uncle Dude (Kevin L) were going to be there too, so it would be a good time to get some work done and catch up.  The ride up was good – it was Parker’s first long ride, and he did pretty well.

The kids had a bit of a hard time the first night since they are not used to sleeping somewhere different.  The next day we got to go into town to see the Cumbres & Toltec train leave the Chama Station.

Monday, Daddy and Uncle Dude got the cabin stained, so that evening the kids went on a walk to see some cows and horses… and, oh yeah…  stomp in the mud.

The last full day we took the kids down to the river to let them explore.  The water was high, fast, and COLD, so we weren’t able to go swimming but we did ‘get in’, but Tabasco was lovin’ it!

Family Day

 DSC06994

This morning the wife and kids got to go to Daddy’s work to see what it is that he does while not at home.  This is the first family day at Sandia in 10 years, so even Mommy hadn’t been able to see Dad’s workplace.   I figured at 2 1/2 yrs, that there wouldn’t really be much interest in it, but boy was I wrong.  Jake and Ry liked my office (the bins of screws and wires were very interesting), but they really enjoyed going outside to look at (and drive) some of the Robots we had out for display.  We ended up spending the whole morning there (I figured a half hour).

Daddy’s morning out…

This past Friday I got to sneak out of Daddy duty and go for a hike with my running buddy John. We hiked up to South Peak from Tijeras and down the front side through Embudo canyon. It only took us 4 1/2 hours – and we are no were near our condition of Grand Canyon Days… It’s been almost a year since my last hike – wow! I enjoyed it – Thanks for the time off Trace!

The three amigos

Here are some good pictures of the three youngsters that we love so much…well….most of the time.   They are definitely a handful and we are pretty busy keeping up with everyone….but we are all getting used to it and settling in with the larger family.   Mom greatly appreciates the help that she gets from grandparents, friends, and family….especially the days that we all get out of the house!!!

Poor Ry

For the past few weeks Riley has been busy being a two year old....she just recovered from a cold, then tripped and fell...hitting the entertainment center (scared the crap out of mom), got a nice sunburn from being at the park watching dad play football (Jake too....thanks to mom who forgot the sunscreen), and last but not least was recovering from having a stomach bug/fever.  Needless to say it’s been a busy couple of weeks.   But this weekend has been fun….we were able to hang out with some good friends that have kids, family, and another couple of good friends that don’t yet have kids….but really enjoy being with ours.
