4th of July

We had a really fun weekend and a good 4th!!  Thursday night we walked Abq uptown, Friday we did some errands and had lunch with the kids (which they loved running around town), Saturday we went to Traci’s parent’s house for the 4th….had an awesome dinner, did fireworks, had homemade ice cream, and on Sunday had another 4th with Clint’s parents that included dinner, fireworks and ice cream.    Jake and Ry really liked the fireworks.  Jake liked helping light them and really liked the illegal ones that were high in the sky that the neighbors did.   Ry LOVED doing fireworks….she would help light them, run around and scream and yell “pop pop pop” like she was a firework….then would always want to do more.   Parker liked watching them too.   We all had a blast and thanks to the grandparents for the really good food!!   PLUS Clint was able to finish the backyard sprinklers and drip system!!!  WOOOHOOO!! A Day In The Life…

Got this idea from our sister-in-law, seems like a good way to document what life is like for us. Although it wasn’t a typical day for us since we had company and I didn’t have to work, it had some of the typical events.

 

2:30 am (ish) – Traci’s day starts a little bit earlier than the rest of ours.  BUT they go back to sleep until 5:30-6.

 

 

6:12 am – We are lucky today… The kids decided to sleep in.  (normal time is between 5:30 and 6).

 

 

7am – We all enjoy breakfast together.  Parker eats cereal and nurses during breakfast.

 

 

8-9am – Dad gets a little work done in the back yard while Traci’s cousin Kris helps to entertain the kids… Pillow Fight!!! Parker is hopefully taking a morning nap.

 

9:30am – Snack time!  Get those kids some calories so play can resume. Parker will want to nurse again soon.

 

 

12:0pm – We all sit down to play with our food.  Some of us actually eat some of it…

 

1:00-1:30pm  Jake refuses to stay in bed and take a nap. Parker is nursing and getting ready to nap too.   Is Riley asleep?  Maybe.

2-3:30 pm – All is quite in the house (even Mom gets a nap)…  Time for more digging.

4pm – Afternoon snack (for all the kids) and then it’s off to the Zoo for Friday night Zoo Music.

6-8:30 pm – We enjoy the green grass, swimming elephants, live music… Accompanied by some crazy-silliness of course.

9:30 pm – Kids are in bed and Parker is getting tanked-up.  Maybe he’ll make it to 3 tonight… – yeah, right.
