Visiting a good friend

Last weekend we were fortunate to have a chance to visit one of our good friends....Jacob (yup....this is the Jake that our Jake is named after). We had dinner with him and hung out/played with the kids, but unfortnately wasn't able to visit with his girlfriend (Erin) as she was not in town. We enjoy visiting with both of them whenever we all get a chance to get together. PS....YES....That is Riley hanging out with Jake...she loved horse playing with him.

The neighbors up the street from us asked if we wanted their swingset...how could we resist!!! It is a little big for our backyard...but it fits and the kids love it!! Clint and some friends moved it to our backyard last weekend and the twins have been out on it everyday. THANK YOU NEIGHBORS!!!

Our first hike

As you all know...Dad and mom are outdoor enthusiasts and can't wait for Jake and Ry to take up hiking and love to be in the mountains. So...last weekend we dared our first hike up the backside of the Sandias and walked about a mile in and out to a rock cave that has a small waterfall. Jacob and Riley did pretty well; to our surprise they really preferred to walk the trail rather than be carried; but they would get tired every once in awhile so we would take breaks or carry them. They really didn't want to ride in their backpack carriers...not sure why they didn't like that other than they haven't been in them that much. They had a good time getting dirty and exploring...they were definitely wore out and took a 3 1/2 hour nap when we arrived home!!! AND of course the dogs loved it!!!
